Seize the day in class writing

The line I chose in the poem is "Love your work, and enjoy your play". I connected to this because I always enjoy my play but I usually hate my work and my mom always told me to have an open mind, to embrace and learn to love my work. I have tried to have an open mind about my work but it hasn't worked very well because I still hate my work.

notes on the poems

The seize the day poem focuses a lot on senses. It’s very inspirational but it’s kind of sad. But it has a good message to embrace the days. The next poem seems like it’s talking about how people force poems to mean something

Monologue

https://litperfblog2019-2021.blogspot.com I think I used a good voice for the mood of the monologue. I could’ve done better if I didn’t forget as much and if I was more comfortable with my monolouge and remembered my lines better. I think as a class most of us did well I liked how some of us were able to use pauses to make the monologue seem more real I wish I did that a little more.

Monologue

I am different than most things I have a beautiful summer breeze scent I’m bright and vibrant. I’m fragile but fierce. I smell nothing but my own summer breeze I feel nothing but my own heat I see my wax melting I taste nothing but fire and hear nothing but sizzles. I am a flame. I sit in still peace all the time but if you play with me you will be burned by flame and wax. You think my flame will burn out but I’m not like most candles. I will burn forever.

Some times I compare myself to a candle because I have a lot of fire inside me that can be quick to emerge but the fire shuts off fast like how a candle blows out.
