Poem performance

We are gonna have two people at a table and another person comes and makes one of the people leave. The one that leaves says some of the lines. Then in the line tomorrow everyone eats together and we say the line I too am America. The aspects of the poem we will have in our performance is that the lines are said and we will have one person who at first isn't able to eat with everyone else and we will fix it so that he is just like the poem.

response

Red Wheelbarrow My first impression of this poem was that it was very short and seemed weird and kind of meaningless because there was no explanation of anything. It didn't have any rhymes or certain format so it seemed weird. What I realized after reading it over and over again was that it had a deeper meaning. I'm not sure what the deeper meaning was and I wish I did but I don't think a poem that was this short would be made without deeper meaning. One thing I liked about this poem was that there wasn’t a lot of words or a fixed format so u can focus more on what the poem really means and not just what the words say. 1. What are all of the things that depend on the red wheelborrow 2. What is this poem supposed to make you think about? It seems like it means more than wh...

Notes on pooems

This is only late because I wrote in a notebook first. Eating Poetry - seems like its in the perspective of a day - the librarian doesn't like it - no rhymes The everyday enchantment of music - very visually descriptive - it shows how everything comes together and connects The Red wheelbarrow - its short but makes you think - a lot of things depend on the chickens wheelbarrow

fig lang

simile- my twin is as fast as lightning metaphor- my twin is a stone personification- my twin threw the ball that was smiling at me on its way towards me hyperbole- my twin was so hot he could burn me onamatopeia- my twin hit the ground BANG! alliteration- my twin tapped toes assonance- my twin tripped on its little tip conasonance- my shuck her shake

Final draft reflection

1. I think my final draft turned out pretty good I explained the quotes a lot and I think most people would understand the message of the poem 2. I worked on explaining the quotes more and explaining the message more so that my essay was 500 words 3. What was hard about this assignment was getting to 500 words I thought I was done when I had like 300 words. What was easy was explaining the stuff because I really feel the stuff in the poem 4. I think my strengths were knowing and being able to explain the message of the poem. I think some weaknesses were formatting my essay and me being able to write enough words 5. If i had more time I would try to improve my introduction paragraph someone made a comment about it but I disagreed with it and had more things to fix but if I had more time I would try to fix the into a little more 6. I think I'll get points for having 500-600 words and the quotes explaining the thesis and not having grammar errors, I might get points off for not h...

How I know final draft

The song "How I know" by lil durk is a song that makes u think about and question who you surround yourself with. In the chorus it says “How I know if you die for me how I know if you shoot for me how u know if you still love me” which is him asking a questions to someone basically saying how do I know you won’t switch up on me. This poem shows the thoughts of someone who is questioning who he surrounds himself with based on his past. The verses keep the thoughts of sadness, betrayal, and distrust going on.     The first verse continues the idea of betrayal. It says  “thought I’d never see the day that you would switch up”. Which is the artist  telling how someone that he never thought would do him wrong did just exactly that which is very sad because it makes him question everyone that he surrounds himself with because that person did him so wrong. Sometimes it can be so unexpected that someone could switch up on you after all you have been through w...

Poetic lyrics

How I know - Lil Durk ft Lil Baby How I know if you die for me? Know if you shoot for me? How I know if you still love me? Yeah, yeah How I know you won't steal from me? Know you won't kill for me? I know that you still love me, yeah, yeah How I know you won't turn on me? Feel like the love phony, gotta keep my gun on me, yeah, yeah How I know you won't die for me? Know you will ride for me, just don't ever lie to me, yeah, yeah Thought I'd never see the day that you would switch up Ain't no hard feelings, I'm wishing you good luck I can't lie, I miss your touch, you got that good love I put diamonds on your hand, don't hold your fist up How I know if I get jammed you gon' keep it real? How you gon' say that I ain't solid, I ain't never squealed If I die today give it to my son, ain't writin' no will All these thoughts inside my head, it got me poppin' pills Runnin' with my steel, there's some n****** i...

Reflection

In-class writing -- reflect on your performance and those that you saw other groups perform. What was hard and what was easy for you? What made the performances interesting to watch? What worked and what didn't in the class as a whole? I think my performance was pretty good. It was easy for me to remember my lines I didn’t think it would be so easy. It was hard for me to not laugh during my performance because funny things were happening. I think what made the performance interesting was the music and Bowen dancing. I think what worked was playing music and what didn’t was laughing during our performances.
