The song how I know by lil durk is a song that makes u think about and question who you surround yourself with. In the chorus it says “How I know if you die for me how I know if you shoot for me how u know if you still love me” which is him asking a questions to someone basically saying how do I know you won’t switch up on me. This poem shows the thoughts of someone who is question who he surrounds himself with based on his past.
In the first verse it says “thought I’d never see the day that you would switch up”. Which is the artist telling how someone that he never thought would do him wrong did just exactly that which is very sad because it makes him question everyone that he surrounds himself with because that person did him so wrong. I understand this because in my life people have switched up on me even when they once told me they never would so I connect to this lyric a lot.

Because if someone switches on u just because something bad happens you shouldn’t be friends with them let alone trust them.
